Training pad with a spunbond top sheet, a superabsorbent polymer core and a PE backing film. Supplied as a folded 20-pack. The specification states the SAP content and the test method, because those two figures are what actually determine whether the pad performs in a home with a large dog.
Where the quality difference actually is
Most training pad complaints are not about the top sheet. They are about the absorbent core: too little SAP, uneven distribution, or a weak bond between the core and the top sheet that lets liquid channel to the edges and delaminate the pad.
Two questions worth asking any supplier before you compare prices:
- Is the core SAP-blended or SAP-laminated? Blended is cheaper and can feel gritty and lose absorbency with compression. Laminated performs better and costs more. Either is a legitimate product, but they should not be priced as if they were the same.
- What is the absorbency test method and figure? Ask for the volume of fluid and the time before leakage. A 200 ml test and a 400 ml test produce completely different results for the same pad, and this is the single most common way pad comparisons go wrong.
MOQ and cut waste
MOQ is 2,000 packs, and the practical driver is the non-woven roll width rather than the converting step. A size mix that fits the roll layout efficiently can be several percentage points cheaper per unit than one that generates heavy cutting waste, so it is worth agreeing the size range with the factory before ordering rather than after.
Where this fits in a consolidated order
Training pads are one of the best consolidation candidates in the pet trade. They are light, they stack flat, and they are produced in the same northern China non-woven belt as wire crates and carriers, so a single consolidation point often serves all three.
One constraint worth planning around: absorbent goods should not be stacked directly against goods that must stay dry, because a leak or a tear in transit affects whatever is next to it. We sequence the load so that separation happens automatically.
Frequently asked questions
Can you supply a scented variant?
Yes, but scented products are a minority of the market and their odour-control claims attract more scrutiny, so the fragrance system has to be stated. If you are unsure whether scent is worth the risk, the unscented variant is the safer first order.
What is the shelf life?
Superabsorbent polymer degrades slowly and adhesives can be affected by humidity and time, so storage conditions matter. Ask for the shelf-life figure and the storage requirements, and confirm the roll packaging is sealed against moisture for high-humidity destinations.
Do you offer other sizes?
Yes. The main constraint is the non-woven roll width, so it is worth giving us your full intended size range rather than a single size — the mixed range is usually cheaper per unit than one size ordered alone.
