About PetWharf | Neutral-Pack Pet Product Sourcing

PetWharf is a sourcing and export coordination service for buyers who import pet products from China. We are based in Zibo, Shandong, and we work with buyers who need pet products consolidated into single containers rather than ordered factory by factory.

This site exists because the way pet products are usually sourced from China does not suit most importers. The default path is: find a supplier directory, contact twelve factories, compare quotations that are not comparable, place twelve separate orders, and hope the containers arrive in a workable sequence. That path works for very large buyers. It works badly for a company buying one or two containers who would rather have one point of contact, one consolidated shipment, and one coherent set of documents.

What PetWharf actually does

We sit between the importer and the Chinese production base. Our job is not to sell you our own branded products. Our job is to translate your requirement into specifications a factory can quote against, then to manage the production, inspection, consolidation and shipping steps so the result arrives as one usable delivery.

  • Neutral packaging only. We do not push our own brands, and we do not ask you to take our brand. Your label, your carton, your barcode. If you are building a retail brand, the goods leaving the factory carry your brand and nothing else.
  • Cross-category consolidation. One inquiry can cover toys, beds, bowls, grooming tools, leads, carriers and more. This is the part a single factory structurally cannot do, and it is the main reason buyers work with a sourcing partner rather than a supplier.
  • Full container loads and shared loads. When a category does not fill a container on its own, we arrange a consolidated load across categories so you are not forced to over-order a single SKU to fill 40 feet of space.
  • Documentation handled as part of the job. Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, and the test reports your target market requires — prepared before loading, not chased afterwards.

Who we work with

Our best-fit buyers are importers and distributors who buy pet products for resale in the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Australia. Typically they are established importers rather than first-time buyers, and they are consolidating several categories into one buying cycle to reduce freight cost per unit and to spread their working capital across more SKUs.

We are also a reasonable fit for regional wholesalers who need a wide assortment for a limited shelf-space window, and for online retailers who need neutral packaging that will not compete with their own listings.

How we are paid

We quote a per-order service fee alongside the goods value. The fee covers sourcing, factory liaison, quality control coordination, consolidation and export documentation. There is no annual subscription and no minimum order value for engaging us. You can run a trial order on a single category and expand only once you have seen how the process works end to end.

Who we are

PetWharf is operated by ISEMI CO., LIMITED, a company registered in Zibo, Shandong, China, with import and export operations. We sell on the terms set out in our quotation and the sales contract that accompanies each order, and we are reachable at the contact details published on this site.

We deliberately do not publish a list of the factories we work with, or their contact details. That list changes, and it turns a sourcing relationship into a directory that bypasses us. What we publish instead is the process, the standards, and the constraints — so you can judge whether the arrangement fits your business before you commit an order.

What we will tell you plainly

Some categories are a poor fit for us and we say so. Pet food is heavily regulated in most destination markets and involves certification steps that go well beyond a product specification. If we judge that a category carries more regulatory exposure than we can responsibly carry on a sourcing-and-consolidation basis, we will say so rather than take the order and improvise later.

We will also tell you when a requirement is technically difficult, when a MOQ is unrealistically low, and when a lead time quoted by a factory is optimistic. An importer who finds out three months later that a specification was not achievable has paid a much higher price than one who was told in week one.

Start with one category

If you are new to sourcing from China, the sensible starting point is a single category where you already know the product, with a target you can hit without over-ordering. Send us the specification, the destination market and the quantity you need, and we will come back with a realistic MOQ, a realistic lead time and an indication of what that shipment will look like loaded.

Frequently asked questions

Is PetWharf a manufacturer or a factory?

Neither. We are a sourcing and export coordination company. We work with Chinese factories but we are not one, and we do not present ourselves as one. We tell you this plainly because plenty of pages ranking for “pet product supplier” are written by trading companies pretending otherwise, and importers who expect a factory and receive a broker tend to end up unhappy.

Do you sell your own branded pet products?

No. We work exclusively in neutral packaging with the importer’s own branding, label and carton artwork. We have no brands of our own to push, which means we have no incentive to steer you toward a product line where we earn more than on the one you asked for.

Can you combine different product categories in one container?

Yes, and this is the core of what we do. Products from different factories in different production belts can be consolidated into one container, with one set of export documents. Where a category alone would fill only part of a container, consolidation is what makes the economics work.

Which markets do you ship to?

Principally the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Australia. We also handle other destinations, but the compliance requirements differ substantially between markets, so for a first order we prefer to know the destination country up front rather than after production is finished.

What is the minimum order?

There is no single blanket minimum, because the practical MOQ is set by the factory and the category, not by us. Some standard catalogue items can be sourced in small quantities; custom or private-label items carry the factory’s own minimum, which we will state in the quotation. We will also tell you when consolidating two small orders into one container is more economical than ordering either one alone.

Who arranges the shipping and the customs paperwork?

We prepare and provide the export documentation — commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin and the market-specific test reports your importer of record will need. You can use your own freight forwarder or work with ours. Many first-time buyers let us arrange the freight so that a single contact is responsible for the shipment from factory floor to arrival.

Can you visit the factory before I order?

Factory visits are possible and we support them. They require notice, and they are most useful when they happen before the first order rather than during a repeat. If a visit is important to your decision, tell us early so we can schedule it properly rather than arrange something rushed.

How long does a first order take?

For standard catalogue items with neutral packaging, production typically runs a few weeks and shipping adds the transit time for your destination. For made-to-order items, add the sampling and revision cycles. We give a realistic timeline in the quotation, including the parts most suppliers leave out — sampling, inspection, consolidation and documentation — because those are what cause missed delivery dates.
